SODET - INVESTMENT OF THE YEAR CONTEST 2010

Congratulations to our clients, Groupe Dion and Prévost Fortin D'Aoust Attorneys, who won this award from the Société de développement économique Thérèse-de-Blainville in the category "Distribution or services enterprise" for their new office building currently in progress by PREMIERE on Côte Nord Road in Boisbriand.

DESIGN-BUILD AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 2010 FROM CDBI

PREMIERE obtained a 2010 Design-Build Award of Excellence awarded by the Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI) for the Cascades Tissue Group's 74,000 square feet expansion project in Lachute.

Here is an extract of October 1st, 2010 News Release from the Canadian Construction Association:

"The project in this category combines the community focus of an industrial expansion (some 75,000 square feet) with the need to add to a century old facility and reflect certain symbolic local architectural icons. The project referred to is the Cascade Group Tissu-Lachute consumer paper facility, producing consumer paper products since 1880. The project is submitted by Construction Premiere. The project budget was subject to the owners desire to favor local contractors, which resulted in an open book approach to project budget control.

Engineering requirements were dictated by the owner’s desire to utilize native materials including structural wood beams and trusses for main spans, as well as architectural and heritage requirements integrating the vestiges of a former church in the publicly visible building façade. Other engineering criteria required heat recovery systems, resulting in part in the first North American LEED NC certification in the paper industry."

LEED GOLD CERTIFICATION - SOBEYS' DISTRIBUTION CENTER, TROIS-RIVIÈRES

SOBEYS' distribution center built in Trois-Rivières by PREMIÈRE in 2007 has obtained its LEED GOLD certification.

LEED GOLD CERTIFICATION - TRICENTRIS TERREBONNE

TRICENTRIS - Centre de tri, Terrebonne is the fourth building in the Province of Quebec to obtain, on April 7, 2010, the LEED GOLD certification. The project stands out with the energy saving systems, storm and waste water management, its green roof and quantity of recycled and local material used.  PREMIERE is proud of this achievement that fully satisfied TRICENTRIS objectives. Congratulations to the team; this is a perfect application of our Integrated Design Process (IDP).

ENERGIA 2009

The SOBEYS refrigerated distribution center built by PREMIERE in Trois-Rivières was awarded a mention by the AQME at its 2009 annual ENERGIA award gala, in the "SUSTAINABLE AND GREEN BUILDING" category.

INAUGURATION OF CASCADES TISSUE GROUP'S PLANT EXPANSION

Last October 19, Cascades Tissue Group inaugurated the significant expansion of its tissue paper plant located in Lachute in the presence of the Premier of Québec, Jean Charest, and MP of Argenteuil, as well as many other politic personalities.

This expansion project will be the first in its category in North America to be awarded LEED certification. The stained-glass windows and the principal bell come from the former Saint-Julien church located in Lachute and have been harmoniously integrated into the global design. The structure of the buliding is a glued-laminated wood frame coming from Chibougamau.

If you want to have more details on this green building, please consult the brochure given during this inauguration.

LEED AP - CANADA GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL

Last March, Louis Thériault, president, obtained the "LEED Accredited Professional" (LEED AP) title from the Canada Green Building Council.  This LEED professional recognition allows PREMIERE to play a decisive role as facilitator for eventual project certification.

ENERGIA 2008

Congratulation to TRICENTRIS for the ENERGIA award received on November 13, 2008 from the Association québécoise pour la maîtrise de l'énergie (AQME) in the "SUSTAINABLE AND GREEN BUILDING" category.  This is for their new sorting facility in Terrebonne which is registered for a LEED certification (gold).

PREMIERE is proud of this succesful Design-Build achievement.

AWARD OF MERIT / CISC-QUEBEC

PREMIERE received the Award of Merit from the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC-Quebec) for the design and construction of CGC's new 109,000 square feet Rock Shed at their Montreal's plant.

INNOVATION

In 2007, PREMIERE was selected by TRICENTRIS to design and build their new Sorting Facility in Terrebonne which is in the process of a LEED certification.

Glass recycling do not have much openings.  PREMIERE has developed a new way to re-use glass by substituting aggregates with glass fragments in the concrete mix used for a new floor slab-on-grade.

Despite very high level of uncertainties, the 2,500 square feet floor was poured without problem and the results are successful.

Since this innovative way to build had many technological challenges, PREMIERE has retained the services of LAFARGE and made the UNIVERSITY OF SHERBROOKE a partner in the project.
